Mocs Scholarship

Who can apply

  • First-time college student entering UTC in fall with at least a 3.2 high school GPA and a 22 ACT Super Score or 1100 SAT.
  • Complete the UTC admission checklist and submit every individual test score to UTC Admissions by December 1, 2026; UTC can create a Super Score only from scores reported to the university.
  • Submit the online scholarship application by February 1, 2027; both the admission and scholarship applications are required.
  • Maintain full-time enrollment each fall and spring, normally at least 12 undergraduate credits, and remain continuously enrolled at UTC.
  • Renewal reviews require a 3.000 overall cumulative GPA and 30 overall passed hours at the first review, 60 at the second and 90 at the third; summer make-up and appeal rules may apply.
  • Up to eight semesters are available, excluding summer. Current recipients who complete a UTC bachelor’s degree may use remaining semesters toward a UTC graduate degree only with immediate, continuous enrollment under the program’s terms.
  • Meeting the minimum criteria does not guarantee an award; funds are limited and transferring to another school forfeits future semesters.

About the scholarship

The Mocs Scholarship at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga provides $3,000 per year for first-time freshmen. Fall candidates must complete the university admission checklist and submit all test scores by December 1, 2026, followed by the scholarship application by February 1, 2027. The award is competitive and may support up to eight semesters, subject to enrollment and academic requirements. It cannot be combined with other renewable or endowed awards from the university’s financial aid or admission offices, but may be combined with departmental and outside scholarships.
