UConn Global Excellence Award

Who can apply

International first-year applicant to the University of Connecticut; the award is available at all campuses.
Show exceptional academic achievement and leadership inside and outside the classroom.
Complete the admission application by December 1, 2026 for priority merit consideration for fall 2027.
Enroll full-time in a UConn undergraduate degree program; scholarships are account credits toward eligible university charges and have no cash value.
Renewal requires at least a 2.5 cumulative GPA and satisfactory academic progress, for up to eight semesters.
Students may receive only one merit-based admissions scholarship; amounts can change with residency or tuition status.
Students who earn and transfer credits from another college or university are ineligible for admissions merit scholarships, except for the separate President-to-President award.

About the scholarship

The UConn Global Excellence Award is a renewable merit scholarship for international students entering an undergraduate degree program. The university gives priority consideration to completed applications received by December 1, 2026 for fall 2027 entry.
