About the scholarship
The Hazen and Sawyer Scholarship provides $10,000 to a graduate student committed to advancing solutions in drinking water, water reuse and water resources, with an emphasis on protecting human health and the environment. AWWA membership is not required. Applications for the 2027–2028 academic year are due November 6, 2026. Letters of recommendation must arrive before the deadline; recommendations from family members or friends are not accepted. Awards are paid directly to the school.
