In short

State and regional speech-pathology funding can be more specific than a national list suggests. The award may require a particular university, degree, clinical interest, residency connection or faculty nomination.

State and regional speech-pathology funding can be more specific than a national list suggests. The award may require a particular university, degree, clinical interest, residency connection or faculty nomination.

Start with those facts before requesting a recommendation. The selected routes below are not national awards portable to every graduate program; their individual amounts are not stated on the overview pages and should not be invented.

Compare verified regional routes

TSH Foundation distinguishes multiple-university applications from awards administered through a specified institution. Do not assume one application reaches every scholarship on its page. Foundation application categories.

A clinical interest must match the actual purpose

For a mission-specific award, explain the genuine learning or research interest the sponsor names. Do not reframe an unrelated career goal simply to appear eligible.

A hypothetical applicant interested in adult neurogenic communication could discuss a supervised project or academic question, clearly identifying their own role. Do not imply independent clinical practice, invent an outcome or identify a patient.

Read the full form for academic stage, residency, recommendation and financial-need conditions. An overview can identify a real program without establishing every rule for a particular applicant.

Faculty nomination is not direct application

OSLHA says its scholarship recipients are selected from university nominations and recognized at its convention. Ask your faculty or program director about the actual internal process and next timeline. Ohio nomination route.

Its Outstanding Graduate and Undergraduate Student Awards are separate recognition benefits that include convention registration and honorary membership. Do not treat those as an unspecified tuition payment. The scholarship fund’s cumulative total is also not one student’s award. Ohio award distinctions.

Keep institutional and sponsor deadlines in separate fields. A foundation’s date may not be the first date your program uses to select nominees.

Convention scholarships fund a different expense

TSHA’s current 2027 convention scholarships cover registration, with ten student awards and a November 9 application cutoff. Membership must remain valid through December 31, 2027, and recipients have attendance, photo and reflection expectations. TSHA convention scholarship.

That is not a cash tuition scholarship or a promise to cover all travel and lodging. Budget remaining costs and read the permissions before applying.

TSHA’s separate Spotter-supported $1,000 graduate scholarship used a February 1, 2026 deadline. The page’s enthusiastic application wording does not make that cycle currently open. Prior student award.

Build an accurate application record

Record exact program, university, degree, expected completion, eligible costs and actual application route. Check national versus state membership separately; one does not automatically establish the other.

Ask references early and give them the actual prompt. Share only authorized research or clinical-learning material and protect client information. Do not attach unnecessary private records.

For every actual offer, record amount, payment recipient, funded term, renewal and effect of changing enrollment. Ask your aid office about outside support and keep pending awards separate from confirmed funds.

Next step

Choose the award whose institution and purpose fit, contact your faculty about nomination, and verify the individual current form before preparing the submission.
