In short

Homeschooling can be relevant to a scholarship without being the only requirement. Some awards are tied to a curriculum provider; broader college or state programs may use different rules.

Sonlight’s readable official page says its 2027 scholarship applications are open for students beginning college in fall 2027, with a December 2, 2026 submission deadline. It requires purchase and use of at least five qualifying full curriculum programs. Official Sonlight page

Establish applicant status

Ask each college whether any postsecondary coursework changes your first-year or transfer classification for that award. Do not assume every student who finished high school is handled identically regardless of later enrollment.

Keep that question separate from whether the college accepts a homeschool transcript.

Prepare the record requested

Use accurate course titles, grades, dates and course descriptions where required. Ask who should submit the transcript or evaluation rather than inventing a school official.

For a hypothetical example, a student with curriculum-use records can review the Sonlight condition, while another homeschooler may need different funding. Buying material now should not be assumed to create retroactive eligibility.

Match the actual selection route

Read the Green and Blue criteria before choosing the permitted route. Do not claim an activity, belief or academic result that is not true merely because one criterion appears advantageous.

Use the current application form and save submission confirmation.

Next action

Check the curriculum condition, applicant category and current form. Build a parallel institutional and local search without labeling every available award homeschool-only.
