A verified Army route
The official Army ROTC scholarship page describes support covering either tuition and fees or room and board at participating institutions, plus specified allowances. It states an eight-year service obligation, with active and/or reserve components depending on the scholarship.
For its high-school Class of 2027 process, the page lists an October 12, 2026 first-round deadline, followed by January 18 and March 8, 2027 rounds, and a separate March 4 application-start cutoff. The first round is already past as of October 14, 2026. Confirm your route directly with the school’s Recruiting Operations Officer.

Keep scholarship types separate
Record service branch, applicant stage, participating school, scholarship type, benefit choice, and the agreement governing it. Do not import Army conditions into another service’s programme.
A headline about covered tuition does not answer which other expenses remain or which obligations apply. Read the actual contract and ask the official programme representative to explain unclear conditions before signing.
Screen the education plan
Check the exact school, degree, entry term, and applicant route. Keep admission, scholarship selection, commissioning requirements, and any review process as separate steps.
Do not assume admission guarantees a scholarship or that a scholarship discussion establishes every other requirement. Provide accurate information through official channels.
Compare costs and commitments
Build a budget using the confirmed benefit choice and uncovered expenses. Ask how payment occurs and how other awards interact rather than subtracting every possible benefit together.
Ask specifically about continuation, withdrawal, changed academic plans, and failure to meet requirements under the actual agreement. This article does not interpret a contract or determine any individual’s obligations.
Your next step
Read the official route, identify your scholarship type, and prepare written questions for the relevant officer. Decide whether the service path itself fits your goals before comparing money alone.
