In short

A useful MBA funding search starts with your intended business schools and program format. The examples below are genuinely tied to MBA study; they are not generic giveaways renamed as MBA scholarships. Their application routes differ, so save the provider instructions alongside each school application.

Verified MBA funding examples

Checked October 13, 2026. No common national October deadline is claimed.

OpportunityWho should investigateBenefit and selectionTiming
Forté MBA FellowshipsApplicants to participating MBA schools with leadership and commitment to advancing women in businessMember-school selection; dollar amount varies/not specified on the central pageApply to participating school; follow that school’s process
Consortium fundingApplicants who meet Consortium membership criteria and apply through its participating-school routeMay cover up to full tuition and required fees; schools need not offer fundingVerify current application rounds and school requirements
Stanford GSB fellowshipsAdmitted Stanford MBA students with demonstrated financial need, including international studentsNeed-based fellowship; individual award determined by the schoolFinancial aid review follows admission

These are selective funding routes, not three awards every MBA student can obtain.

Forté: apply through a school, not a universal award form

Forté’s participating schools choose their fellows. All member schools grant awards for full-time students; part-time and executive awards exist at selected schools. Applicants of all nationalities, genders, and gender identities may be considered. The mission concerns advancing women in business, but the central eligibility statement is not women-only. Official fellowship process

Before applying, ask the school: Is my MBA format included? Is a separate essay required? When are fellowship decisions made? What amount and renewal conditions would appear in my offer? Do not copy another recipient’s amount into your budget.

Consortium: distinguish membership from funding

The Consortium explains that schools may offer partial scholarships or merit-based fellowships up to full tuition and required fees. Membership and a funded offer are not the same outcome. Review the official eligibility and application guidance before assuming citizenship, mission alignment, or program requirements fit your circumstances. Consortium FAQ

Suggested application planning task: keep a membership checklist and a school-admission checklist separately. Then add a third line for the actual fellowship decision. This prevents a promising application route from being mistaken for a confirmed tuition award.

Stanford: need-based does not mean everyone gets the average

Stanford states that its MBA fellowships depend on demonstrated need rather than a universal merit formula. It reviews aid for admitted students, and students must complete the institutional application to be considered for fellowships or loans. Funding framework and application process

Avoid interpreting a published class average as your likely offer. Instead, use the school-provided award and cost of attendance after admission.

Compare the remaining cost, not the scholarship headline

Illustrative offers, not real school quotes:

ItemOffer AOffer B
Tuition and required fees$80,000$65,000
Confirmed scholarship$30,000$20,000
Remaining tuition/fees$50,000$45,000

The larger scholarship leaves the larger tuition bill in this example. Add housing, insurance, travel, and the effect of stepping away from paid work before comparing the overall investment. Keep loans outside the scholarship column: borrowed money finances a cost but does not reduce it.

Questions before paying an enrollment deposit

  • Is the award for one year or the full program?
  • Which fees, living costs, and required experiences remain outside it?
  • What happens if you change enrollment format or take a leave?
  • Can employer sponsorship or external awards change the school offer?
  • Is a fellowship decision due before or after your deposit deadline?

Get the answers in writing. A program name and a maximum benefit are not enough to make a dependable MBA budget.
