Start with the provider’s rules—not the category label. Heritage, graduation year, enrollment, GPA, residency and the institution you attend can all change which application fits. The opportunities below have official provider evidence, but the two closed rounds are included for future planning, not as applications you can submit today.

HSF: support services and scholarship funding are different
The 2026 HSF page requires U.S. citizenship, permanent legal residence or DACA; qualifying full-time U.S. four-year or graduate enrollment; the specified FAFSA; and minimum GPA of 3.0 for high-school students or 2.5 for college and graduate students. It welcomes students of all races who identify as Hispanic.
Scholar selection is merit-based, while an actual scholarship depends on available funds and other stated conditions. Do not add a projected HSF award to your confirmed budget merely because you receive Scholar status.
The current page is explicitly closed. Your next step is to save the official program page and watch for the next application announcement. Recheck the award year’s rules instead of copying the 2026 requirements into a future application.
Youth Awards: graduation year and complete documents matter
The 2026-cycle FAQ requires an unweighted GPA of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, residence in the U.S. or its territories, and intended accredited higher-education enrollment in 2027–28. It also describes an exception for eligible GED applicants under 21 and mandatory virtual ceremony participation for selected recipients.
Both the application and required uploads share the November 1, 2026 deadline. A completed essay alone is not a complete submission: the provider requires a recommendation and transcript. Confirm that the people uploading documents have done so before the deadline.
The provider writes its cutoff time as 11:59:59 PM PST. Use the portal’s own instructions; do not assume a local-time conversion or wait until the last minute. This article does not reinterpret the provider’s time-zone label.
HACU: institution membership is a separate eligibility test
The Deloitte Foundation announcement covers specified business, computing, engineering and related majors, a 3.0 GPA minimum, and full-time undergraduate enrollment at a HACU-member school. Its published round requires spring 2026 enrollment and planned enrollment in the four listed following semesters, plus financial-aid conditions.
That round’s May 31, 2026 deadline has passed. The useful next step is to inspect HACU’s current opportunities through the announcement’s scholarship link, not submit against the old announcement.
Do not assume attending a school with many Hispanic students makes it a HACU member. Also do not add a heritage restriction that this individual announcement does not state.
Build a shortlist that prevents wasted applications
Make a row for each award with the exact program, award year, your qualifying route, any unresolved requirement, and one next action. Put closed programs in a reminder section.
An original hypothetical example: Luis is a spring-2027 high-school graduate. He checks the Youth Awards route now, requests his transcript and reference, and separately saves HSF for its next announced cycle. He does not treat the Deloitte 2026 round as available or presume membership rules apply to HSF.
For essays, connect a specific action to an outcome you can honestly document. “I organized a bilingual orientation handout with the counselor” is more concrete than claiming to represent every Hispanic student. Use your own experience; do not invent statistics, leadership roles or hardship.
FAQ
Does every HSF Scholar receive money? No; HSF says funding depends on available resources and stated conditions.
Is HACU the same as a heritage requirement? No. Check each sponsor’s requirements rather than generalizing from the association’s name.
Can I reuse last year’s deadline? No. A previous cycle is a planning lead, not confirmation of a current application.
