In short

The first eligibility question is not whether you work in healthcare. It is whether an award funds your particular course and institution. These selected routes concern allied-health education, not a blanket scholarship for every medical, nursing, or health-management student.

ASAHP’s documented June 2026 deadline is past. It does not establish a future deadline or current application availability.

AMT: match the credential and enrollment requirement

The parent review confirms relevant AMT disciplines, regionally accredited enrollment, and applicant categories covering high-school seniors or graduates, including GED holders, or AMT members in good standing. It also confirms two references, a 500-word essay, and enrollment or admission evidence.

Use the exact course title when asking whether your training qualifies. A school advertisement’s job title is not enough to resolve an ambiguous credential. Request clarification before writing an essay for a route that may not accept your program.

ASAHP: ask your institution about the process

The supported 2026 call concerns member institutions and recognizes academic excellence and leadership. Contact your health-professions office about institutional membership and how candidates are identified. Until the next call is available, keep this route on a monitoring list rather than treating it as an active submission.

Describe your contribution accurately

A hypothetical laboratory student could explain a supervised documentation responsibility and what it taught them about quality systems. A medical-assisting student might discuss coordination work and the skill they want further education to develop. These are planning examples, not fabricated applicant histories.

Distinguish observation, supervised practice, and independent responsibility. Do not imply authority you did not hold or include patient-identifying details. Choose references who can assess your preparation and reliability rather than only repeat your enthusiasm.

Budget before counting an award

Separate tuition, supplies, examination charges, placement travel, and living costs. Ask which expenses the current award permits and where payment goes. Keep an unconfirmed scholarship outside the budget you use to decide whether enrollment is affordable.

Your next step is to review the AMT application with your exact credential in hand and request references. For ASAHP, ask your school about the next call and its own role. A focused application to a confirmed-fit award is more useful than a generic healthcare essay sent everywhere.
