In short

Check that an award funds your actual esthetics program—not a different cosmetology, nail or massage qualification. Beauty Changes Lives offers several distinct esthetics awards in its fall 2026 season. The current provider pages and application portal were checked October 13, 2026.

Start with these three programs

All are administered through Beauty Changes Lives’ official application portal. This is a small verified shortlist, not a ranking or a claim that every esthetics student qualifies.

Confirm the program and personal requirements

The portal’s current checklists require applicants to be at least 18, show financial need and supply school evidence. They exclude previous recipients of BCL-administered scholarships and specified employee/contractor/family relationships; Hand & Stone’s listing explicitly allows current Hand & Stone employees. Read the exact exception rather than applying one award’s exclusions to another. Current application checklists.

For Dermalogica, ask your administrator to verify the partner-school requirement before applying. Circadia also includes a mentoring component. These distinctions can matter even when the amounts look similar. The old “BIPOC” URL slug is not itself evidence of a current race-restricted eligibility rule; use the live checklist.

Do not swap the qualification you are studying

BCL’s FAQ gives a specific warning: a complete application for a cosmetology scholarship does not qualify an applicant enrolled in esthetics. It also explains that funds go to the school or education institution rather than directly to the student’s bank account. BCL scholarship FAQ.

Before recording a video, compare the name of your program on the enrollment letter with the award’s accepted route. Ask the school how any scholarship payment would be applied to your account. Do not count it as spending cash or assume it pays unrelated living expenses.

Prepare a clear, accessible video

The current portal requests public YouTube videos with a three-minute maximum for these applications and rejects Shorts. Test the link while signed out before submitting. The portal labels the deadline time “11:59 PM PST”; because that is the provider’s wording, do not independently convert it into a different local deadline. Portal submission instructions.

Use a simple planning outline, adapting it to the award’s actual questions:

  1. Explain the specific esthetics career you are training for.
  2. Give one truthful example of what led you to this work.
  3. Explain the financial obstacle the award would help address.
  4. Describe a practical way you hope to serve clients or your community.

This is an original preparation framework, not a substitute for the provider’s prompts. BCL’s own application tips emphasize checking the requirements and making the submission clear. Official application tips.

A concrete way to choose your first application

A hypothetical newly accepted student should begin with the acceptance letter and the school’s partnership status. If the school does not satisfy Dermalogica’s route, the student can check Circadia and Hand & Stone’s actual program requirements rather than sending the same incomplete application to all three.

A hypothetical previous BCL scholarship recipient should stop and clarify the repeat-recipient exclusion before investing time in a new video. Neither example predicts an award; both avoid an eligibility mismatch.

What to do next

Open the named award in the portal, verify your school and applicant stage, save the exact prompts, and request the required enrollment evidence. Build the video only after those checks. A strong application begins with the right program, not the longest list of beauty scholarships.
