In short

A coding bootcamp scholarship usually applies to a particular provider and course, not any training you choose. Before comparing award size, check the exact program, start date, schedule and eligibility category. Then ask what remains payable after the scholarship.

A coding bootcamp scholarship usually applies to a particular provider and course, not any training you choose. Before comparing award size, check the exact program, start date, schedule and eligibility category. Then ask what remains payable after the scholarship.

Do not combine scholarships, tuition discounts, loans and payment plans into one “free training” figure. A loan changes when you pay; a confirmed tuition reduction changes how much you owe. Employer or public-agency support can have separate eligibility and approval rules.

Official provider pages were checked October 15, 2026. The three routes below have inspectable eligibility and funding descriptions, but no universal national application deadline. Confirm availability for your intended cohort before committing to enrollment.

Compare three documented scholarship routes

Official routeWho should investigatePublished benefitApplication sequence and caveat
Code Platoon Pay-What-You-CanAccepted Code Platoon students; its public contact page describes support for veterans, active-duty servicemembers and military dependentsNeed-based support can cover up to 100% of tuition; individual contribution determined with admissionsExpress scholarship interest in the program application, obtain admission, then complete the coordinator-assisted financial form; check military/program eligibility and cohort timing
Nucamp High School Graduates ScholarshipApplicants age 18+ who graduated in 2021–2026 under the displayed eligibility wordingCourse-specific tuition support; $50 for fundamentals and larger course-dependent amounts for listed longer programsFollow the current course-registration and video/document process; funds are conditional on availability and may arrive as refund or payment-plan adjustment
Nucamp Natives in Tech ScholarshipVerified members of federally recognized tribal nations, age 18+Course-specific support, including $50 for fundamentals and listed $354/$423 or $372/$415 amounts for longer programsVerify eligibility through Natives in Tech, receive confirmation, then follow Nucamp registration/application instructions; availability subject to sufficient funds

The Nucamp programs each advertise a $50,000 scholarship fund. That is the overall fund, not a $50,000 scholarship for each student. Code Platoon’s “up to 100%” applies to tuition, not a promise to cover housing, equipment or lost earnings.

Code Platoon: admission comes before the scholarship decision

Code Platoon’s scholarship page says every accepted student is eligible for its Pay-What-You-Can model. First, apply to the program and indicate that you want scholarship consideration. After admission, the enrollment coordinator helps you complete a short form explaining your finances and what tuition contribution you can reasonably afford.

The provider says the scholarship can cover the remaining tuition, potentially all of it, and that a contribution can be paid through a customized plan over up to a year. A payment plan for your contribution is still money you owe; it should not be counted as additional scholarship support.

The official contact page lists tuition as $20,000 and identifies scholarship options for veterans, active-duty servicemembers and military dependents. Confirm that your relationship to the military and chosen program meet admissions rules. The scholarship page’s “every accepted student” wording does not mean every member of the public can bypass admission.

Next step: Ask which program and cohort you can enter, how VA benefits interact with the scholarship if relevant, and when your contribution will be confirmed in writing. Do not use benefits and the maximum scholarship twice in the same budget.

Nucamp: the course determines the award

The High School Graduates page currently specifies graduation years 2021–2026 and a minimum age of 18. Those years are provider wording, not a rolling rule that automatically expands each January. Confirm updated eligibility if your graduation year falls outside the displayed range.

Its listed examples include:

  • Four-week Web Development Fundamentals: a $50 scholarship.
  • Seventeen-week Front End Web and Mobile Development: $354 or $423, tied to displayed early-bird or regular tuition figures.
  • Sixteen-week Back End, SQL and DevOps with Python: the same listed $354 or $423 amounts under its price examples.

The Natives in Tech page separately lists $372 or $415 for the 22-week Full Stack program and repeats other course-specific amounts. Do not assume those numbers cover every future course, any AI-branded program or a changed tuition schedule. Confirm the current checkout price and the applicable award together.

The provider says support is delivered as either a refund or an adjustment to a tuition monthly payment plan. That sequencing matters: you may need to understand enrollment and payment obligations before the scholarship is finally processed.

Next step: Request the current written tuition and award calculation for your exact course and start date. Ask what happens if scholarship funds run out after you begin the registration process, and review withdrawal/refund terms before paying.

Natives in Tech: verify the published membership category

The Nucamp partnership requires verified membership in a federally recognized tribal nation and age 18 or older. The provider directs applicants first to an eligibility form hosted by Natives in Tech and says verification produces email confirmation before the later registration steps.

Do not replace verified tribal membership with a general statement of Native ancestry or transfer one program’s rule to another. Use the official partner route and ask the administrator about documentation rather than posting membership records publicly.

The page describes scholarship processing within 48 hours on Monday–Friday, assuming sufficient funds. Treat that as the provider’s stated processing expectation, not a guaranteed award decision by a specific date.

Next step: Complete eligibility verification, retain the confirmation privately, and ask Nucamp how it connects to the exact course registration and tuition credit. Confirm how other Nucamp awards can combine; do not assume two scholarships will stack just because you meet both descriptions.

Prepare the actual video and document request

Nucamp’s High School Graduates route asks for a video discussing your journey toward a tech job, the importance of the scholarship and why you chose Nucamp. It also asks for age evidence and a high-school diploma through its application instructions.

Prepare a factual outline rather than a manufactured success story:

  1. A coding exercise or project you actually completed.
  2. What you built and which libraries, tutorials or collaborators you used.
  3. The technical question you still need help learning.
  4. Why the specific program fits that gap.
  5. How its confirmed scholarship changes your feasible budget.

Do not invent users, revenue, employment history or job outcomes. Using a library is normal; claiming you wrote the library is not. A small, well-explained project can be more credible than unsupported claims about a startup.

Only transmit identity and financial evidence through the provider’s stated official route after checking the destination. Do not put a passport, driver’s license or account credentials into public recruitment posts or portfolio repositories. If a submission route is unclear, ask the program how to provide evidence securely before sending it.

Keep public support and loans separate

The Code Fellows financing page mixes public-agency support, loans and veteran funding routes. Its Basic Food Employment and Training description says qualified students can attend specified numbered courses at no cost, but it does not establish that every applicant or every current cohort qualifies.

That page is included as a funding-research resource, not as a newly verified portable “Diversity Scholarship” record. Contact the relevant agency and provider to confirm eligibility, course availability and approval before enrollment. No current loan rate is recommended here; borrowing terms and provider offerings can change.

A scholarship, public benefit and loan approval are different decisions. If someone offers “$0 this month,” ask whether that means waived tuition, deferred payments or new debt. The phrase alone does not tell you the total cost.

Calculate the remaining cost before accepting training

Use a course-specific worksheet:

Budget lineWhat to obtain
Tuition and mandatory chargesCurrent written quote for the exact cohort
Confirmed scholarshipAmount, approval evidence and eligible costs
Payment timingImmediate credit versus later refund or adjustment
Equipment and connectivityActual course requirements and your uncovered needs
Living and work costsYour own realistic schedule and resources
Remaining contributionAmount owed, due dates and any financing agreement
WithdrawalCurrent cancellation/refund terms and scholarship effect

Illustrative calculation—not a provider quote: If tuition is $3,000 and a confirmed award is $400, tuition still payable is $2,600. If you also need $500 in equipment, your planning need becomes $3,100 before living expenses. A ten-month plan of $260 addresses the tuition balance but does not erase it or automatically cover equipment.

Check the full curriculum and support offered before choosing by scholarship size. An inexpensive program that does not fit your learning needs may still be a poor purchase. A scholarship is not a job guarantee, and a marketing employment claim is not your individual outcome.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use these scholarships at another bootcamp? The listed routes are provider-specific; no portability is established.

Is a scholarship the same as a financing plan? No. Keep repayment obligations separate from tuition reductions.

Does a $50,000 fund mean a $50,000 personal award? No. Nucamp publishes a shared fund and course-specific individual amounts.

Can everyone receive Code Platoon’s full tuition coverage? The provider says accepted students are eligible and support can cover up to 100%; admission and individual financial review remain part of the process.

Is FAFSA a substitute for applying to these programs? The inspected scholarship routes describe their own processes. Do not assume every nondegree bootcamp accepts federal aid. Ask the institution about the exact program before treating FAFSA as its funding application.

What should I do now? Choose the exact course, verify your eligibility category, obtain tuition and scholarship terms, and complete the provider’s stated steps without budgeting an unconfirmed maximum.
