In short

Older instructions that begin with the AWS DeepRacer Student Portal are no longer a valid current application walkthrough. AWS says the portal became unavailable September 15, 2025, and that the AI & ML Scholars program was relaunched with a generative-AI focus. AWS transition announcement

The current Scholars page displays a July 13, 2026 assessment deadline. That date is past as of October 14, 2026; the next intake is not confirmed here. AWS Scholars

Separate the old route from the current one

Material you findHow to use it
Old DeepRacer Student instructionsHistorical context, not current registration steps
Current AWS Scholars pageStarting point for the program and dated requirements
Old Udacity scholarship termsApply only to their stated cycle, not automatically to a later one
A new portal announcementVerify its official source, eligibility and dates

Do not combine requirements from different years into an invented application process.

Check what the opportunity actually provides

Before calling an offer a cash scholarship, identify whether it provides course access, a training place, a credential pathway or money for other education expenses. Save the actual benefit and conditions in the program record.

This guide intentionally does not promise a tuition payment, a particular Nanodegree or a job. Those details must come from the current cycle’s official terms.

Build a current-cycle checklist

Record the learner eligibility, permitted countries, required account, preparatory coursework, assessment dates and selection process only when the provider states them. Mark unanswered fields as unconfirmed rather than copying a 2024 PDF.

If registration is closed, keep the official announcement route separate from an active-application tracker. A page explaining a program’s history is not proof that submissions are being accepted.

An original learning-plan example

Imagine a student who has found an old guide promising a DeepRacer route. Instead of trying to create an account in a retired portal, the student can verify the current AWS learning resources and ask when a new Scholars intake will be announced.

They may choose to keep learning while waiting, but should not assume completing a course guarantees later scholarship selection. The example is hypothetical and makes no employment or award claim.

Ask the provider precisely

“Is a new AWS AI & ML Scholars intake accepting applicants? Please identify the current eligibility, application route, assessment dates and benefit terms. Which older DeepRacer instructions should no longer be used?”

Use official AWS links and avoid sending account credentials to an unofficial person offering to secure a place.

What to do next

Start from the current AWS Scholars page, verify the next cycle and record the actual benefit. Treat older competition and course descriptions as dated references, not an application you can still submit.
