A documented example
DECA’s official scholarship page lists CONQUERing as offering two $500 scholarships for eligible DECA members with stated adversity and business-interest criteria. It lists January 11, 2027 as the deadline.
This is not a general $500 award for every student. Read the complete programme rules, materials, and payment terms before applying. A broader distinct opportunity set is still needed.
Compare effort with actual fit
Record eligibility, selection, required materials, and the work you already have prepared. Do not assume a smaller award has a shorter application or higher odds.
A hypothetical student with relevant membership and a truthful experience may find the example actionable. Someone lacking the required connection should not write an essay hoping the condition will be waived.
Answer the criteria honestly
Use real experiences and education goals. Do not invent adversity, affiliations, or achievements to fit a sponsor theme.
When another person supplies a reference, give them the actual prompt and instructions. Keep their submission separate from your own checklist.
Check what $500 can fund
Ask about eligible expenses, payment recipient, timing, and any continuation or acceptance steps. Do not assume the award is unrestricted cash or that it pays before a current bill is due.
For a hypothetical course-material expense, confirm both the actual cost and the provider’s permitted use before assigning the money to it.
Keep a precise award record
Save the provider, exact amount basis, cycle, rules, confirmation, and next action. If a programme changes value, do not keep it in a fixed-$500 category merely because an old directory did.
Ask the institution how outside funding would be handled before combining awards. Keep potential money outside the secured total.
Your next step
Screen the official example and add other programmes only after confirming their actual per-recipient value and current rules.
